Public Projects

The work will consist of constructing a 600 gallon per minute duplex submersible sanitary sewer pump station; approximately 2,733 linear feet of 8-inch diameter PVC force main; approximately 146 linear feet of 8-inch diameter DIP gravity sewer; 2 manholes; site work; potable water, electric, and communication utilities required for service; and all other Work required in accordance with the Contract Documents.

A general description of the work includes, without limitation: Rehabilitation and replacement of facilities and equipment at three (3) lift stations located at Moore Street, Ninth Street, and Park Avenue in the City of Southport, NC.

This project consists of removing two existing 72-inch CMP culverts at Bow Brook Trail and Pioneer Lane. These two existing culverts will be replaced with precast concrete box culverts.

The Project includes the following Work: • Remove asphalt pavement, sidewalk, ramp, and slab on grade. • Relocate water and sewer services. Cap off existing sewer tap. • Excavate a trench in the alley for electrical conduit and a junction box. • Install 50LF of channel drain. Replace asphalt pavement, sidewalk, ramp, and slab on grade. • Air conditioning unit handling during construction. The Project has an expected duration of 45 days.

GW is investing funds for improvements by replacement of fiberglass effluent troughs, cypress baffle walls, raising of Clari-Trac system, and structural repairs including crack repairs, sealants, handrails, and protective coatings within the existing Flocculation and Sedimentation Basins at the Adkins Water Treatment Plant.

The project consists of installation of approximately 14,500 feet of 8" water line, 4,500 feet of 10" water line, 1,200 feet of 12" water line including a directional bore under the South Fork Catawba River, and associated appurtenances, valves, erosion control, surface restoration, Elevated Storage Tank, a Pump Station, Etc. This project is being (or was) supported, in whole or in part, by Coronavirus State and Local Recovery Funds, federal award SLFRP0129, awarded to the State of North Carolina by the U.S. Department of Treasury.

Furnish all labor, materials, equipment and incidentals required and construct the Highway 221 Pressure Regulator and the Highway 9 Altitude Valve project, as shown on the drawings and as specified.

The Project consists of removal of the 250,000-gallon McKay Street elevated storage tank. Work is expected to be undertaken in February 2026 after completion of other tank rehabilitation projects.

THIS PROJECT HAS BEEN CANCELLED

The Project consists of improvements to 10 existing campsites, construction of 5 new RV sites with full hook-ups, 2 new cabin sites, campground loop road improvements, new showerhouse, septic system, and improvements to the existing Park office building. Separate Bid Alternates are included for additional improvements to the Park office building, and two lakeside camping platforms with boardwalk access and parking.
