Public Projects

The Project consists of approximately 112 point repairs on 8-inch through 18-inch sewer mains and replacement of approximately 3,000 LF of 8-inch sewer. Estimate cost for construction is $1,900,000.

Work to include reroofing the office building located at 1407 Airport Road, Monroe, NC 28110. Based on the site information, the existing roof system is approximately 5,100 square feet and consists of a stone ballast EPDM roof system. The roof drains to a gutter on the northwest side of the roof and a short parapet wall makes up the remaining perimeter. There are numerous curb-mounted mechanical units and pipe vents located across this roof area. There is also a gas line that feeds each unit that extends across the length of the roof. This building was constructed in the mid-1990s and contains the original roof system. Scope of work includes removal of existing stone ballast, removal of existing roofing membrane and insulation down to decking. Removal of existing metal coping, gutters, and downspouts. New roofing and insulation to be installed per design drawings. New metal copings, metal flashing, gutters, and downspouts to be provided. Existing gas pipes at roof to be painted yellow. Two (2) new 4” plastic pads at existing condensing units to be provided.

Rehabilitation of existing sewer infrastructure within the City of Southport, NC and new construction of approx. 9,000 LF of 8-inch sanitary sewer force main connecting Park Ave Pump Station to the manifold force main connection on Hwy 211 in Southport

The work to be done consists of furnishing all materials, equipment, and labor necessary to construct the Pinnacle Court Drainage Improvements – Phase 2A & 2B consisting approximately 1,640 LF of new RCP storm drainage and 16 drainage boxes, and miscellaneous demolition, utility relocation, and fine grading to facilitate the project.

The work to be done consists of furnishing all materials, equipment and labor necessary to construct Freedom Boulevard 30” Water Line – Base Bid, consisting of the approximate quantities: +/- 5,615 LF of 30" DIP waterline along Freedom Blvd (US HWY 301). +/- 1,000 LF of 12" DIP and 1,125 LF of 12" PVC along Becky's Pkwy (S-21-1350) to connect to existing 12" water line. +/- 1,178 LF of 8" DIP along Saint Beulah Rd.(S-21-859) to connect to existing 8" water line. All associated water appurtenances. Bid Alternative 1 and Bid Alternative 2 consist of the approximate quantities: +/- 400 LF of 36" HDPE Directional Drill +/- 9,600 LF of 30" DIP waterline along Freedom Blvd (US HWY 301). All associated water appurtenances.

The intent of this RFQ is to obtain the necessary information to identify a qualified consultant to assist the City of Kings Mountain develop a Comprehensive Facilities Master Plan to guide the development of selected city properties and programs located within the City over the next ten-year time frame

The selected Architect will be required to provide a comprehensive needs and condition assessment that complies with the NC Department of Health and Human Services and Jail Standards and includes but is not limited to: • Stakeholder Management; • Data collection; • Conducting regular meetings with appropriate County personnel. • Site assessment; • Assessment of current support spaces including administrative space, laundry, inmate storage, dry goods storage, employee break room areas, training, and food service areas; • Major systems condition and capacity analysis, including useful life remaining; • Review of current and projected inmate population and related staffing levels; • Assessment of compliance with current North Carolina Building Code, Fire Code, ADA standards, and North Carolina Jail and Detention Standards; • Identifying the gaps between current capabilities and future needs; • Preparing order of magnitude cost estimates for alternatives; • Short term planning (0-5 years) that addresses immediate pressures; • Middle term planning (5-10 years) that recommends phased upgrades, renovations, or expansion of support spaces and program adjustments; • Long term planning (10-20 years) that anticipates population growths, staffing level needs based on industry standards and justice system trends; • Extended horizon planning (20-25 years); • Comprehensive Final report including a phased implementation plan; and • A potential timeline for implementation.

This project is for the replacement of the Airport’s existing Jet-A fuel facility. The scope of the project will include the removal of the existing 10,000 gal. underground fuel system and installation of a new 12,000 gal. above ground tank with associated pumps.

The construction work will consist of the following approximate major quantities: Water Installation, well installation, street improvements, parking, grading, trails, landscaping, lighting and erosion control measures.

Installation of approximately 7,850 linear feet (LF) of 8-inch force main with seven (7) air/vacuum release combination valves in precast manholes, 7,400 LF of 10-inch force main with six (6) air/vacuum release combination valves in precast manholes, 1,340 LF of 12.0-inch force main, and 3,160 LF of 15-inch gravity sewer with eleven (11) 5-foot diameter manholes and connection to an existing 4-inch diameter manhole. Rehabilitation of landfill pump station and installation of one new duplex pump station with two 600 gpm pumps.
